Select_Fishing

Fishing in nearly 1,400,000 sq. km. of Seychelles' pristine territorial waters which have been spared the ravages of commercial fishing is the experience of a lifetime.

Big-game fishing from any one of our modern fleet of fishing boats holds the promise of one of the best mixed-bag catches around – from yellowfin and dogtooth tuna, skipjack, dorado, kingfish, green jobfish to the thrill of battling sailfish and marlin.

Traditional bottom-fishing or 'palangrotte' for coral reef and deep-sea fish will provide you with some of the finest tasting fish on the planet: emperor; bream and grouper as well as a dizzying array of other demersals. Night fishing for barracuda is also a treat not to be missed. The flats and lagoons of Seychelles outer islands are renowned for their bone-fishing which is considered to be among the very best in the world.

Select_diving

With sparkling warm waters and myriad opportunities for granite and coral reef diving, it is not surprising that Seychelles is a popular diving destination.

The inner islands, the remains of a submerged mountain range, rest on a shallow plateau that has encouraged prolific growth of marine life while the outer islands in the southern arc of the archipelago are largely uninhabited and present the experienced diver with excellent diving spots, wall and cave dives where few have gone before. Sightings of turtles, rays and shark are relatively commonplace with seasonal visits by whale sharks a spectacular bonus.

All diving is supervised by internationally qualified and insured dive-masters or instructors with a number of courses of instruction available at internationally recognised centres and resorts.

Select_Ecotravel

With almost 50% of the country's limited landmass protected, Seychelles remains a well-preserved sanctuary for a host of endemic species of flora and fauna ... among which are to be found some of the rarest specimens on earth. Seychelles also boasts two UNESCO World heritage Sites: The legendary Vallée de Mai on Praslin, home to the wondrous Coco-de-Mer, and Aldabra, the planet's largest raised coral atoll.

On Mahé, Praslin, La Digue and Silhouette as well as on several neighbouring islands, there are well-marked, nature trails to introduce hikers to the spectacular and unique natural treasures of these islands. Guided walks cover a variety of scenic routes and will reveal such endemic treasures as the rare Scops owl, insectivorous pitcher plant and the jellyfish tree.

Several island resorts have their own turtle nesting and other conservation programmes while others are home to important colonies of nesting seabirds, justifiably earning for Seychelles the reputation of being one of the Indian Ocean’s most important biodiversity hotspots.
